#The New You Post Kids
Are you expecting too much of yourself?

Is it time to welcome the new post-kids you and recognize that the pre-kids you is a memory.

What is this process exactly? We all go through it, but nobody ever talks about it. The old me used to be able to give 110% at work, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Now that I have my kids and I am back at work I should still be able to do that…….right!!?

The new me has different priorities, but I can still be everything I was before, just with kids, right?

They say child number 1 changes your life, but nobody prepared me for child number 2. I’m struggling with my identity, I’m not sure of my career direction, I feel like a fraud, my confidence has taken a dive and the happiness and contentment I should be feeling, now that I have everything I want, is not materializing.

If you are dealing with any of the above, consider the following questions

  1. Are you being realistic
    a. Write down everything that you want to get done in a day, do this for a week and see how realistic your aspirations are
  2. Are you taking the time to be grateful for what you have
    a. Use your journal to practice gratitude every night before bed. Write down 3 things you are grateful for during your day, reread it in the morning as a start to your day
  3. Review both exercises at the end of the week, share your findings with your partner/friend/mum/ significant person in your life and discuss.

You will be amazed at what you find.!
